You may also want to coordinate your outfits so that you complement each other without being too matchy-matchy. Also, I usually advise my customers against using patterns, letters, paintings, or bright colors. These might take the viewer’s attention away from the picture’s main theme – your bond. Whatever you decide, just be sure that you’re comfortable and feel like yourselves.
How do couples pose?
The best way to capture natural-looking couple portraits is to let the couple interact with each other while I take the photo. This could involve anything from holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes, to playful banter and laughing together.
Some of my favorite couple poses for portrait photography are standing, walking, sitting, lying down, leaning on a wall, holding hands, kissing, kissing the hand or the forehead, hugging, hugging from behind, holding the other person’s face, sexy and classy poses, doing something silly, and lots more.
I just let them be themselves and have fun – this will result in the most genuine-looking photos!
