As a photographer, I often get asked what lifestyle newborn photography is and how it differs from traditional posed newborn photography. And while there are many answers to that question, ultimately, it boils down to two things: connection and emotion.
Lifestyle newborn photography is all about capturing the real, everyday moments of life with a new baby. It’s about documenting the love, joy, and exhaustion of those first few weeks of parenthood. And it’s about telling your unique story beautifully and authentically.
Lifestyle newborn sessions typically take place in the comfort of your home or another location that is special to you. This can make the experience even more personal and intimate, as it truly captures your family in your own element.

What happens if my baby doesn't look at the camera
We'll just let them be, the magic of these photos is that we allow the baby to be themselves!
When should we schedule our newborn photo session?
The best time to book a newborn photography session is during pregnancy. You can plan the session in advance and according to your estimated due date.
A lifestyle newborn session is best conducted when your baby is 5-10 days old. This timeframe allows you to capture all the tiny details, like wrinkled skin, and is perfect for those close-up shots! It also ensures that your baby will be sleepy enough to be posed in different ways without too much fussing. However, my style is natural and spontaneous. I’m always looking for tiny nuances, such as smiles, yawns, and glances, so I don’t need your baby to be asleep all the time.
How long do newborn photoshoot sessions take?
Newborn photoshoot sessions can take anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending on how the baby is doing and how many breaks we need to take. I take an individualized approach with every baby I work with, so the session length may vary.
I want your photos to look exactly as you imagined them, or even better. Likewise, I won’t stop until they’re perfect. But I understand that taking care of a newborn is exhausting, so I will never push you beyond your comfort level or keep you longer than you want to be.
It is an honor and great responsibility to be chosen by a family to document their history in portraits. Therefore, my goal is to capture beautiful, natural moments in a relaxed, stress-free way for everyone involved.
Will you travel to my city for a photoshoot?
I’m based in Miami, FL. I mainly work in South Florida, but I can go to your city too! Just contact me and tell me where you are and your date preference.
